> (they can't engineer a damn mouse to save their lives)It's doubly baffling given how good they are at trackpads.Anyhow yeah, I *want* to like the Magic Mouse but it's an ergonomic nightmare.

For the pros who don't need a goddamn SD card slot

I work in a design related profession. Professionals absolutely need to have everything beautiful. If they don't own beautiful things customers might think that they are not good at design.(Lol I have a Thinkpad)

It's essentially become a college laptop for students using google docs and word. It's basically an expensive Chromebook.

The smaller the non-removable battery, the shorter the life of the product. Buy new one, rinse, repeat.

The reality is that so many people use Apple products that they're getting to a point where they can do whatever they want. And this is the most cost efficient option for them by a long shot. People will eat it up and devs will have no choice but use Macs. Designers and artists on the other hand might start jumping bandwagons if this goes on long enough and competitors make solid portable desktop replacements that actually meet their needs - not just some fancy touch bar that's just a multitouch start bar moved to the keyboard.

Its £3000 for the top end model. £3000...£3000 for 2gb Radeon and 16Gb of Ram. Who is buying this?!

ThinkPads are built like a brick shithouse, too.

I did some serious research on the P50, as it is one of the few laptops that can go all the way to 64gb ram if needed be, but the consensus is the screen wasn't all that great even for 4k.

The specs on that page say the display is 1080p as well as 2160p. I don't know what to believe. Also what's the battery life like and does this model let you install Linux?

But it doesn't look sexy and thin. Nor can I pretend to be a savvy tech designer geek with it.

I got a Yoga 12 a couple weeks ago and haven't put it down. I love it.

We have an external battery charger and 4 batteries for our S4's because my husband chews through batteries and I go through at least 1.5 a day. It's so easy just to leave them charging, swap out and go, than to tie our phone down for 45 minutes to an hour or carry around a power bank. No regrets. Save that I changed phones so now I have to carry around the power bank because the batteries don't work on mine and I haven't gotten spare ones yet :|

every phone has a removable battery if you're brave enough

Take a look at LG. I've got the V10 (now a year old..) My girlfriend has a G5. They both have easily swappable batteries.
第 407 楼 ·
Because people have more money than sense.
第 408 楼 ·
Well not anymore. They took out the light now.
第 409 楼 ·
Succeeded, more like. I don't know what university campus he's attended where at least half the laptops weren't MacBook pros

If I had to reboot multiple times during the workday I would lose my fucking mind.I'm banking on this Ubuntu / Windows integration to turn into something useful.

That's pretty nifty, but it's all user mode. I don't see how it's any different than cygwin.Edit: Huh. OK. After digging in a bit, it's more like WINE in reverse than cygwin. It runs unmodified Linux executables under a reverse-engineered compatibility layer. There's still no Linux kernel though, and it's strictly command line.

Well I doubt InfoSec is going to be happy about Linux laptops, then. Especially when a power outlet solves your problem.
第 413 楼 ·
You could also run Citrix Xen desktops and be even more secure then your current set up.
第 414 楼 ·
Surely the brightness does not reflect evenly from every spot to every spot of the screen. I find it hard to believe that there is extra brightness added *to some area in the center of the screen* to compensate.

I know right? These kids obviously need to be asking Cecil the lion, if he's anything like Aslan he will be back.

Modded skyrim won't crash with 640 kb!

Having played many a game that fit on a floppy disk, I can assure you that 10mb of game can be plenty.

To be fair, everyone who pays $3398 (or equivalent in today's money) for a HDD (or SSD) nowadays will also be reading the technical specs. :)

I need to have at least 20 tabs of 4k60fps porn sites to properly jerk off. For this reason, I don't foresee myself getting the new Macbook Pro.

Mute your speakers. Play them all at once. Leave the room for a couple minutes. Come back in and hold Ctrl+Tab with your eyes closed. Whatever you land on is now your material for the next four and a half seconds.
