The glowing Apple was just backlight from the screen, they removed it to make the top shell thinner
TristanwithaT第 212 楼 ·
Might sound stupid but the glowing Apple was one of my favorite design features of the Macbooks.
KidGold第 213 楼 ·
The logo doesn't glow anymore? That's depressing.

There is a dongle for that!^(tm)

> huge battery hog thats not necessary *for everyone*Right; but you have the normal Macbooks for that. A MBP should be targeted for a different crowd. One who wouldn't mind it being a little thicker for a bigger batter and more ram.
All_Work_All_Play第 216 楼 ·
Huge battery hog? They idle around 30mw. Full bore around 4 watts per stick. 2x16GB = 8 watts. That's not exactly slim *but you're paying close to two grand*. Make the machine 2mm thicker for a better batter and you'd be fine.

Do you have an idea already which brand or model?
greengrasser11第 218 楼 ·
Agreed, it's counter to their philosophy. They like standardizing so they can create a seamless ecosystem for all their products and that also means they're going to have a much tighter grip on everything. To my understanding it's also why developing iOS apps is much easier than hoping for universal compatibility on Android.

Why though... Why does the headphone jack have to go completely?

And it's so smart. Apple loses market share and would have to offer a similar deal to get it back. Microsoft has so much money they can play business on a whole nother level.

They seem about the same in this comparison.https://www.yahoo.com/news/macbook-pro-vs-surface-book-fight-215049823.html?ref=gsOnly real difference is that one has the touch bar, the other had a detachable tablet portion and stylus. I guess if you're into having ports that's big plus too.

I concur. The price tag would shy away the avg consumer base that has nothing to do with 16GB of RAM. I would have liked to have seen an increase of RAM only because it's been 4 long years for an update to the lineup. In those 4 years I'm sure programs that run with high graphical needs must have been pushing for more, hence a bump in RAM could/should have been expected. But I dunno that's just my opinion man.

I was really let down by the new ones too, mainly the price point. I have a Late 2011 macbook pro and I love it. And it sucks because I really like the 2012 pros with the HDMI, better display and it being thinner in general. The specs in the new ones are pretty damn weak too.Depending on how much they cost it would be kind of crazy to buy a 4 year old laptop but I'm not sure. Other "premium" laptops are very expensive too. The build quality and trackpad have a huge influence in the laptops I purchase and so far nothing really compares to a macbook. if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

How's the trackpad though? The best part of a MacBook if you ask me
dxm65535第 227 楼 ·
True. At that point, I'll switch back to an Android. The 5s is a nice little phone, but spec-wise it's far below par nowadays.

Ah yes, I remember a few days ago I watched that clip of Steve Jobs explaining why Xerox failed.hmm...

"The new MacBook Pro Fit is truly a game changer. You will literally be able to strap it to your waist and the Pro Fit will be able to track your pulse and count your steps in this all-in-one machine. You can then share your bio stats with your friends as soon as you are near wifi, thus creating a er sense of community, and to a better world. A truly courageous feat in technology."

I want to slice tomatoes with my laptop thank you very much.
LeakySkylight第 235 楼 ·
Yah, I want a ticker laptop with more battery life, more ports, that's less than half the price.Apple: Can't be done!PC: Ahem...about that...
TrepanationBy45第 236 楼 ·
Didn't you know we want our phones to become laptops and our laptops to become phones?

"Get money, fuck consumers"

:/ I think Apple might have an eating disorder...
the_norwegian_blue第 239 楼 ·
Let's not consider the fact that they applied the same dumb fuck reasoning to the iMac, which is a fucking desktop, and has no need to be extra-thin.But they made it thinner anyway, leaving less space for components, meaning it's harder to cool and they had a "reason" to make it impossible for users to upgrade it.
