Don't get their obsession with making everything thinner.
第 62 楼 ·
You wouldn't believe the battery life on my Motorola Razr flip phone. That doesn't mean it's cutting edge.Pun deeeeefintely intended.
第 63 楼 ·
Why not make the new MacBook Pro the thickness of the original first portable Mac and stuff everything not needed for the engineering components full of battery.Sure, it's going to be a lot thicker, it'll weigh more but, fuck me, it'll need recharging once per season!Who's with me?

When Marketing department has say over Tech department.

Nothing about the new MBP justifies the price in regards to hardware. I get that they are stable and reliable as hell, I've been using one for 6 years. I just don't get their pricing.

"Apple announces another anti consumer decision"Oh, it must be a day ending in Y again,
第 67 楼 ·
Apple making all the wrong decisions lately.
第 68 楼 ·
But then they couldn't claim it was thinner than the last generation.
第 69 楼 ·
If battery life was their real concern why did they offer CPU upgrade options? Something tells me the i7 running full-bore slurps up more power than another 16GB of RAM would.

It's so cool now that we have all installed ubuntu on our iphones and macbooks!
第 71 楼 ·
is 16GB not much or something? I don't even get close to using up all my 8GB and I game and photoshop.
第 72 楼 ·
Same, I was hoping for something nice as I believed the MacBook pro was the only thing worth the apple tax. This new revision has not supported that. USB C is cool though.
第 73 楼 ·
but it's got two hours less battery life than your 2012! yay progress!
第 74 楼 ·
2012 15" Retina was my first MacBook and the way things are going it'll be my last too. Still runs perfectly though
第 75 楼 ·
It's the same amount of ram, but it is a fair bit faster than what is in your 2012. 1600MHz vs 2133MHz

The Gillette macbook, smoothest a man can get

Can you imagine if Tesla focused on aesthetic design over function? People reading this comment wouldn't even know what that company does. There is room for both, but you have to remember that you are creating a product to perform a function that people need. You don't keep charging them more and taking away function.Shareholders should be at their wits end with Tim Cook at this point. You can look past one or two mistakes or backlash. You can't have them piling up on top of each other like this with every indication that there is absolutely no vision for the company beyond the next annual meeting. With this kind of leadership, they should completely abandon the car project. That's too complicated and important for the current leadership to manage. You make computers. If they want to focus on other things, break off the divisions into separate companies. Apple makes computers. This sub makes ios devises. This sub focuses on content and services. This sub makes cars.If I were to take over Apple we'd change the vision for the next year and make the #1 priority be 'focus' and we'd buy adderall by the semi.

OBSERVE AS ALAN WALKS ON STAGE AND SLITS HIS THROAT WITH THE THINNEST MACBOOK WE'VE EVER MADE
第 79 楼 ·
Well there's an iPad Pro so they sure don't.
第 80 楼 ·
The words "pro" and "professional" have been so overused and abused by marketing departments everywhere that, at this point, they barely mean anything anyway.
第 81 楼 ·
They could literally just not mention the thickness, and nobody would even ask. Just say you've got a full day of battery life, and everyone would throw money at you.
第 82 楼 ·
Same for phones. I don't need my phone any thinner. It fits in my pocket, I can hold it with my hand. I do need it to last through the day, or even multiple days.
第 83 楼 ·
Jonny Ive is the guy who talks about how thin everything is.I wouldn't like one as thick as the optical drive ones. But I'd be fine with the current (2015 era) thickness continuing. That still should be good for 20 hours I would think.
第 84 楼 ·
I dunno man, thats technology in a nutshell today. For example a thick phone with an amazing battery and specs sounds amazing only to us it seems. Maybe its easer to market smaller and thinner devices than more powerfull ones.
第 85 楼 ·
Their target demographic is people who should own a chromebook. These aren't pro computers, these are computers for netflix and facebook. They put in what is needed for that, make it as thin as possible and market it as a luxury product for house wives, old people and trustfund kids. This really sucks for us who want a mac as a tool for development.
第 86 楼 ·
For that you need to go to Microsoft and the new Surface Book. 16 hrs battery life in essentially same form factor as last gen.

Designer here. When it comes time to buy a new laptop I ALWAYS hear designers go back and forth over power and portability.A lot of us have gone with the Air because it's nicer to commute with and it's fast enough and many creative apps allow for collapsed pallets now.I'm solidly in the 15in MBP camp, but I work with a lot of people who think I'm crazy, an Air is fine, and it's easier to manage if you're doing a lot of walking / biking to work.

第 89 楼 ·
Perhaps some kind of pro version?

I want a thicker phone and laptop ffa
